Two UTP Loan Portfolios Sold Successfully through Debitos Digital Marketplace, Totalling €34 Million in GBV
As of today, we are pleased to announce the successful completion of the sale of two UTP (Unlikely to Pay) consumer loan portfolios through Debitos, Europe’s leading digital marketplace for distressed debt and real estate transactions.
The sale includes two portfolios valued at approximately €18 million and €16 million, totalling around €34 million in gross book value (GBV), with an average ticket size of approximately €70,000. Both portfolios consist of consumer exposures, some of which are backed by residential real estate assets, spread across Italy. The rapid sales process, which spanned only a few months from summer to autumn of this year, involved over 600 positions and attracted strong interest from several major institutional players.
The transaction was completed promptly thanks to Debitos’ extensive network, which offers banks and companies access to over 2,000 registered institutional investors from 16 countries and more than 400 credit servicers. Advanced platform features that facilitated the transaction included the VDR Text Search, enabling quick analysis of relevant files for the buyer, a Q&A area for real-time management of inquiries, and the option to add team members for document uploads and edits, expediting the due diligence process and supporting agreement between parties.
Recently, Debitos has hosted over 3,000 auctions in Italy, with a GBV (Gross book value) exceeding €2 billion, solidifying its position as a key platform not only for Italy but across Europe. Once again, the partnership that led to doLook with doValue, the leading operator in Southern Europe in credit management and real estate services for banks and investors, underscores Debitos’ effectiveness as an online trading platform for NPLs and associated services, ensuring greater efficiency and liquidity in the secondary market.
This transaction represents another success for Debitos, which in recent years has evolved from a transactional platform into a provider of intelligence tools and additional services for sellers and investors, confirming its leadership in the secondary market for the management and disposal of UTP and NPL.
